🗣️ “We are all here for one reason: to end fossil fuels around the planet. And the way we create urgency is to have people around the world in the streets.”
✊ “We will not give up. We will not let go. We will not allow cynicism to prevail”

🌅 EXTRA, Extra— Sunny Climate News: on the Horizon
Happy Monday! Here’s a special Autumn-Incoming edition of Sunny Climate News.
🌞 3 Autumn-Inspired Changes to Charge into a Cleaner, Sustainable Future
Yes, Autumn's giving the beauty in letting go– how to turn, the millions of little flaming gold ombre endings from death falling into a confetti-twirling celebration of change for all we can save. Here are 3 ways
Be Like Trees— with Wonder & Color: Solar Leaves, a Golden Embrace of Autumn's Glow
Harvest Abundance— in Autumn Energy: Cozy Community Redistributed in the Spirit of Togetherness
Change Together— Singing Symphonies of Action: Breathe in the Cool, Refreshing Aura of Autumn’s Renewal
1. Be Like Trees— with Wonder & Color: Solar Leaves, a Golden Embrace of Autumn's Glow
The timing and brilliance of fall color are influenced by temperature, sun exposure, and rainfall—along with a range of other conditions.
These conditions are shifting with climate change, disrupting the ecological and economic value linked to fall foliage.

2. Harvest Abundance— in Autumn Energy: Cozy Community Redistributed in the Spirit of Togetherness
“Interest in our solar project was originally driven by my husband, Frank, who always believed in renewables and looked for ways to make our operation more efficient, to save on costs.
Frank’s legacy was to set up the orchard for success for our kids, and completing this solar project has been a big part of that effort.”
— Cindy Femling, owner of Afton Apple: Minnesota apple orchard adds 79 kW of solar to power operations
3. Change Together— Singing Symphonies of Action: Breathe in the Cool, Refreshing Aura of Autumn’s Renewal
"For all the complexities of climate change, the big picture of what we need to do is not rocket science:
1. Turbo-charge investments into all clean energy alternatives: wind, solar, geothermal, batteries, green hydrogen, and green mobility.
2. Enact a global moratorium on all new oil and gas exploration and exploitation, encouraging oil and gas companies to shift their business model.
3. Regenerate nature."
—Christiana Figueres, “What to do about climate’s front-page paradox?”
A Poem: Turn
through the season. Autumn, the season of poetic renewal. The trees are about to show us the power of embracing Change. Every leaf is a renewable canvas. Fall brings cozy moments and in- finite colorful adventures. Autumn is a second evolution. Change/Act- ions in the air. When every leaf is a dream...
NASA Confirmed: We just lived through the hottest Summer ever recorded
“Unfortunately, climate change is happening. Things that we said would come to pass are coming to pass. And it will get worse if we continue to emit carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into our atmosphere.”
The impacts of climate change are real, urgent, and global. Continuing to burn fossil fuels is a threat to our planet and future generations. But if we be like trees, harvest abundance, and change together— we’ll make it with flying colors.
As with Autumn, the old world is dying. And a beautiful-renewable new world full of seasons of change is in our hands. In our power. On the horizon— solar. Golden as the leaves.
Stay golden,
— Adam Powers

“The spring, the summer,
The childing autumn, angry winter, change
Their wonted liveries, and the mazed world,
By their increase, now knows not which is which.”
—William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream

More recent writings:
“At no other time (than autumn) does the earth let itself be inhaled in one smell, the ripe earth; in a smell that is in no way inferior to the smell of the sea, bitter where it borders on taste, and more honeysweet where you feel it touching the first sounds. Containing depth within itself, darkness, something of the grave almost.”
― Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters on Cézanne
