A Beautiful September Week in Washington, DC
Monday, September 13th, 2021
Monday is a beautiful day: Sunny with stray clouds, warming into a late afternoon 92°F high staying fair, reaching-cross the Beltway.
A beautiful day, to (remember to) have water, to drink-in breathing blue skies, to take care of ourselves and each other.
A beautiful day, to (as usual) imagine the more than 12% of the total energy sold in DC from renewables, as 100%, clean, and equitable.
A beautiful day, to (figuratively) turn the heat-up, to rally for Climate Action Now, to restoratively do what you can in your own way.
Monday is a beautiful day.
Tuesday, September 14th, 2021
Tuesday is a hot and beautiful day: 10 degrees hotter than the average DC September high, expected to reach 91°F faster than Monday.
A hot and beautiful day, to expect this same Summer steam to stick around through Wednesday, maybe broken by mid-week rain.
A hot and beautiful day, to get out early if you can, before the humidity interlaces her fingers with the heat’s.
A hot and beautiful day, to unclench your jaw, stay hydrated, and take care, between intervals of powder blue, clouds, and sunshine in the air.
Tuesday is a hot and beautiful day.
Wednesday, September 15th, 2021
Wednesday is a steamy day to make beautiful: Under increasingly cloudy skies and 90° highs full-steam heading into evening thunderstorms.
A steamy day to make beautiful, carrying an umbrella, or staying-in through the storms and getting inspired by Arlington’s new community compost program.
A steamy day to make beautiful, looking-up DC farmers market organic food waste drop-offs, looking into how-to home compost, or joining a compost co-op.
A steamy day to make beautiful, recognizing all the changes needed for all to participate, demanding the changes sooner, and nourishing a beautiful tomorrow, today.
Wednesday is steamy day we’ll make beautiful.
Thursday, September, 16th, 2021
Thursday is a wet beaut of a day: Skies cloud-crowded, afternoon shower-scattered, and evening nudged by a nearby front with possible thunderstorms.
A beaut of a day, to feel temperature highs drip-drop 10 degrees and align with September averages, to breathe and just be in this reprieve.
A beaut of a day, to keep your rain gear close and what energizes you closer, to consider what energy keeps DC sprawling as rain’s falling.
A beaut of a day, to check-out DC’s upcoming decarbonization summit, to work towards renewable cultures, sources, AND structures.
Thursday is a beaut of a day.
Friday, September 17th, 2021
Friday is another wet and beautiful day: Swampland seventies in September, humid but never ruined, mostly cloudy, with intermittent showers and possible thunderstorms.
Another beautiful day, to stay rain-ready before it descends, to thank each droplet for any reason, to stay safe this weekend.
Another beautiful day, to hear rainfall spit the truth, to feel the rage of youth, to #UprootTheSystem and make Fridays for the Future.
Another beautiful day, to see Beauty— not in the eyes of one beholder, but in the hands of our behavior.
Friday is another beautiful day.
