Dear Future,
I don’t know what else to say, but I love you
I do think the only way is in the light of you
I don’t know what’s enough to do still, considering
I do know there’s more than one way flickering
I won’t tell you the things you’ll already know
I will explain everything to ready you now
I won’t not now write to you with all my heart
I will will you a world on my word a better start
This isn’t a cut-and-paste note offering today for ransom
Nor a bargain for tomorrow, but a monument to my fandom
To you. You too know you deserve both more and evermore
To you, when it rains we are the storm you’re wading, and it pours
But there I go telling you what you already know
But there I go not earnestly letting all my heart glow
And here I am bargaining with nonsense words just to say
And here I write to tell you we’re trying today
And here I write to tell you of the world we’re creating
Propped up by light beams reflected from you emanating
Strung together with natural glowing radiating power
Crafted to relight existence like chlorophyll to a flower.
Love,
Adam Powers
