🕷🦗Insect’s Story
Far away and just as long ago, there once was an insect
Who left town to learn what home is and connect
To find somewhere in the world, the bug wandered a ways creeping
Crawling in and out forging pathways, elongating, and leaping
To return to exponentially declining rates of their brothers and sisters, at rest
Far away and just as long ago, there once was an insect
The insect left town again, after their family's sudden extinction
With other survivors of the changing climate, all leaving mad with a mission
A bullet-like buzzing overhead as they huddled, put antenna together, and grew,
Swarming and fighting bugs biting back at one another over what to do
Combining tension with their vengeance and still making abundance amid-apocalypse
The insect joined the storm swarming against climate Insectpocalypse
Fighting the end of how they ate, loved, lived, and the end of all they ever knew
With everything either bugging, binging, or ending, there’s no end to what to do
To fight for our world they listened to our world, crittering ghosts of family crept ghastly near
Apparitions saying “Be symbiotic, damn the parasitism, be brave, damn the fear
Be as one with the web-of-life that needs you to sustain, be how everything intersects
As every person, animal, and plant has their place, so does every insect.”
