🌧️☔🌬️🍂 Wind currents from decaying Ian-remnants continue past DC’s weekend, producing intermittent isolated showers in impetuous skies. Call Monday, mixturesque, as with Tuesday, too—they’re giving, cool & dreary Autumn.
The scent of rain spreading-brisk through possibly-gusting North winds like an earthworm invitation to the ball. Crawling beneath umbrellas & swamp-slickers ready for any squall. Fall-leaf scattered decor covers concrete, shining slick with fresh rain-drip. Temps will be slow-to-inch towards a mid-50°F high, while winds slink & squirm them swiftly back between mid-40s°F lows.
🌧️🚌☔🌧️ Tuesday is another day draped in rain showers— with Wednesday expected to turn a different lewk, for your week ending with some warmth and drier skies. Until then, prepare to slosh through a gray quagmire of a rainy DC. Tuesday collects its cloudiness, with morning marbled in moist hues. Good for heading-out in a stylish, water-resistant layer— as it still stays anomalously cool; with North winds that could gust, chill, & brush your neck coming off your bus commute. And keep your umbrellas close: rain showers may scatter & isolate through the day, though they're expected to continue past your evening commute into night.
🌧️ 🌂 ☁️⛅ 🌔 Wednesday is your liminal day/midway between the early week’s gray and the later week’s glow: still cloudy, moreso-mixed, with zipper-pockets— not very deep pockets— of sky. Hold onto any bit of sun that falls through, bringing slight warmth with a mid-60s°F high / upper-40s°F low to you. That said, you should still ready for chances of rain showers to scatter earlier in the day. With dawn damp, and dusk chill, north winds will slacken into a lighter breeze & sometimes coughing-gust, you’ll still need to toggle your layers to dial into comfort. Whereas— Thursday & Friday, so far, seem more sun-warmed & solar-triumphant.
☀️🌳🚴♀️🌤 An amber warmthshine holds under high pressure Thursday into Friday over DC, giving, blissfully-mild mostly-sunny light-breeze scampering-afternoon 70s°F. With it, nature’s palette paints in brighter, warm, yet still earthy, hues. You could look forward to some of these pleasantries continuing into your Friday plans, or you could stop. Slow & pause. Find a moment of reprieve — today. Like a single falling leaf in the whirlwind of your day. Remember to drink water. Step outside in a jacketless afternoon. Breathing with the leaves (AQI looks good). Evening is in the 60s, with temps dipping past dusk.
☀️🌳🍂🚴♀️🌤🌕 SUN FALL SONNET
Fall fall fall— who doesn't love an Autumn
Friday sunny & invigorating
morning dawning with honeyed-blue columns
of airy, brightening, & breathtaking
skyline warming into afternoon highs
of shining sun-spiced 70s°F
Friday, with lower-50s°F lows late moonrise.
The weekend joins the solar reverie:
mild, colorful, & crisp as an apple
orchard canopy sun-drenched glowing glade
chlorophyllchromatic & sun-dappled
spread of shade, of change, of a season made
for everything. Even for the scares.
Ours— the Fall: of the fossil-fuel era.
☀️🚴🏾♀️🍎🍂🌤 Wednesday’s forecast is (tl;dr: comfortable) that patch of crimson sunshine caught on the skin of a mid-orchard mid-season mid-air apple your silver bow's aiming at— beginning bright, with a slight morning chill rounding off into juicy afternoon warmth, framed from below the end by leaf-like clouds. Sky’s a basket full of them, stacked airy & stark. Beautiful biking, basking, breathing, & just being weather. Though we've raced past the Hunter Full Moon, & an incoming cold front will bundle skies with a wet, brisker chill into the rest of the week— Artemis stays with you; giving, fierce face amid the glory of the chase. 🏹
☁️🌂🌧️☂️⛈️ Thursday’s giving sultry swamp monster energy— a humid, cold-front-emergent wet vibe. Scattered rain showers gray skies-through early, so I advise wearing/carrying rain-gear out on your commutes; it’s only expected to get gustier & damper in possible PM downpours & likely thunderstorms as the day drips away. Winds gust mischievous whipping whooshes— pulled with damaging potential. This all comes together, wrapping Thursday stretched in a sloppy & slippery bow. I say— take it, smile through, spin along, & bear it, as you look forward to a brighter Friday & a drier weekend.
Friday: ☀️ mainly/generally/mostly sunny. 🚴🏾♀️ light breezes whisper 65-69°F highs. 🍂 incoming cooler air drags temps tens of degrees down into evening’s dark.
Saturday: ⛅ mixed/marbled/partly cloudy. 🎃 conversational winds chatter warmer, mid-70s°F highs, moving between plentiful clouds & sunshine. 🐿️
Sunday: ⛅ dappled/partially/somewhat sunny. 🍏 winds gasp and pause variably, again mid-70s°F highs, anticipating moderate late shower chances. 🌂
“The brightness of the day becomes
the brightness of the night;
the fire becomes the mirror.”
Thank you for all you do— for an equitable, just, self-determined, sustainable, & decarbonized DC.
☁️🌂🌬️🚌🍂 The DC Metro area forecast for Monday is giving clouds & cooler temps crest-rising on winds whispering complex hexes through your week ahead. Dawn & dusk are gripped evermore by that cool trend, the chilling that coats & goes in & out of seasons. The energy my friend is blowing in the winds, conversing in breezes, & every now & then cackling in gusts. Slight chances of speckled showers squirrel-over the graylight-dappled transmission-lined contours of your early-day. Between bushels of leaf-strewn auburning cityscapes on commutes & stretches of clove-spiced dropping temperatures into night— the vibe is abundant with Autumn power.
🌤🌬️☀️🧥🍂 The DC Metro area forecast Tuesday is giving, time to haul-out the colder-weather layers. It’s giving, urban pastoral of mostly-neutral peacoats, puffy-vests, hats, jackets, & scarves against crinkly-wooded colors aflame, several shifting mixes. Brisk breezes bring this cold front energy, both clearing skies & lowering temperatures. So even if highs could reach mid-60s°F, lows could tumble into low-to-mid 30s°F overnight, bundled in a fierce wind & gust scarved-sky. Tuesday’s near-average highs, but below-average lows. Stay vigilant to protect people & plants from the impacts of late near-frosting temps.
With temperature turning downward, thoughts turning inward, coats turning upward, leaves turning autumn-chromatic, winds turning a bit blustery, and in the metaphorical mix, several waves of tides turning— the vibe is Turning.
🌤🧥☀️🧣🍂 WEDNESDAY’S GIVING SONNET
The DC Metro area forecast
Wednesday is giving, cool exhilaration
underneath this dry, crisp, chilling airmass
fast winds race gusting invigoration—
this brrrrisk morning blow & glow-up energy
shines mostly sunny where skies are like moss
stretching & shaking-off shivers early
into layers preparing for night’s frost
& between the chilled dawn & dusk bookends—
kiloWatts of solar glide along lines
sunlight guides your bike detour, your errands,
your active offering amid beaconing signs:
the vibe is not another hot soup take;
the vibe Wednesday is rising — for all we can save.
🧣☀️🧥🍂 The DC Metro area forecast Thursday is giving, layers. Layers of stagnant overnight chill coat Morning. Layers for early dog-walking & blood-pumping layers for running. Layers of leaves emblazoning branches, sidewalks, & between. Layers leaving, crisp skies breathing. Layers of slight warmth lay over each hour increasing into late afternoon. The energy vibrates in plaid layers like patterned waves, with afternoon sun lowering like palms in prayer. Layers of climate action reach from each and every system-changing player. Layers emerge in cultures nurturing nature. Layers of dusk drop evening degrees, not as chill as yesterday, despite the taper. Thus, Thursday— the vibe is layered.
☀️🚴🏿☀️🍂☁️ The DC Metro area forecast Friday through your weekend is giving, 100% renewable energy. Friday: solar-generous sun warms morning’s chill gold dawn to mid-to-upper 60s°F highs. While a light breeze turns leaves like wind turbine rotor blades. The energy is alight and alive outside, a living urban-pastoral as Saturday’s similar: slightly warmer & sun-stunning. Airy temperature near the best-side of average for this time of year. Olive greens glow jade where mellow creams ombre coral. Chorals of birdsong get more grackly, until Sunday’s cloud-spackled skies provide possible showers, as of this writing. That's all to say, this weekend— the vibe is vibing.
🌤 🧥🚲🍂⛅ MONDAY/FORECAST/SONNET
Autumn-average Monday’s mostly-sunny
potential is spreading between drama
off the eastern coastline stirred energy
hexed between sun & cloud diorama-
horizons gathering warmth for your week
to start, Monday’s wearing a sumptuous-
seaming temperature cut day-through between
50°F lows & 70°F highs feeling— fabulous
dying leaf scents mix-in more humid musks:
the cherished perishing part of the season—
like a calm breeze brushing a kid’s puffed-cheeks
into a pumpkin patch as with each Autumn-reason
canopying with trees like Rock Creek’s cascade
lacing-up readying for Tuesday’s high heel race.
In October’s ochre, the orchard is overgrown with orange and olive, oleander and oxlip.
Tuesday’s forecast is looking good & feeling fine: wearing a hand-sewn custom couture lewk of layers of greys, mostly cloudy, & stitched through every seam with that classic DC humidity. Even early morning walks & your early commutes should feel a bit comfortably beclouded— fit in stacks of thin gauzy layers. A very current neutral-pallete, for sure, with ballgown marble skies that may even give some silhouette shimmering through translucent cirrus-chiffon, between afternoon & evening. With enough streetbright, wind-stoned russets & olives & goldenrod hues could sparkle & crunch. But by then, the forecast fits as easily as dusklight on your cheekbones, a foundation-beat, on which high heels click & clack & stomp & stumble, a flurry of fierceness down 17th street.
🌫️😶🌫️🦉⛅☁️🌂 mild-ing temps — early fog alert — later shower chances
Wednesday’s forecast meets at the intersection of crossing regional weather patterns, shifting-in stronger 10-mph+ winds & lowering relative temperature highs by a handful of degrees. Humidity still reigns as swamp queen, with a foggy crown nestled atop Wednesday morning. Careful navigating roadways & bike-paths on your morning commutes in the mix of mists (& carve even-more clarity in the haze of your fog know-how with this new article— Currently Explains: Fog.)
Later-Wednesday trades layers of murky haze for faint shower chances. If you miss the rain, soak up the mildness; we should expect the creeping chill to puncture a bony wrist past Wednesday, reaching skyward through the end of the week.
☀️🚴 🌤🌬️🍂 Great rustling-Autumn late-October vibes are expected. Thursday’s riding 🚴 mostly-clear ☀️ with increasing winds 🌬️ in cooler yet less-humid temperatures🧣.
Overnight Wednesday elucidates the way with a high-pressure system gaining from the West, absorbing more of that foggy moisture that had thickened skies, and redirecting breezes to bring upper 40s-50s°F lows. Cooler, but comfortable. Especially with your light-layers. Winds, temps, and falling humidity set the scene for whatever fabulous climate action you’re up to this nice Thursday. Seize the rays and get out and enjoy in-between, before daylight shifts sunset more dramatically end-of-next week.
⛅🎃🌤🧣🌧️🍂 Your forecasts are giving Autumn opulence in a mix of skies through the weekend, casting every shade of dapple over dulling kaleidoscopic colors, & gently wafting the sweet smell of cool fall air. Generally dry— until Sunday, which should see occasional later-day rain showers.
⛅ Friday, partly-to-mostly cloudy, sky-almost-sealed, giving good-even hues for selfies with friends in the park catching up after work.
🌤 Saturday, clear-er skies are expected, bringing out the bright in everyone’s eyes.
🌧️ Sunday, the steady light breeze brought through the weekend takes running leaps into piles of clouds, pressing possible precipitation scattered across DC’s afternoon–evening.
"It’s October. A kind of paradise.
Gold hills, black walnuts, a flurry of gulls on open water.
Pasture thistle, evening primrose. Crows."
☁️🌂🌧️🦇🎃 Your October concludes on-average: DMV-area airy with slight-warmth, skies cluttered with clouds, and Halloween plans sputtered with shower chances. & here’s your forecast as variation on Shakespeare’s Song of the Witches from ‘Macbeth’:
Double, double Monday’s muddle;
Forecast’s a partly-cloudy bubble.
Fillet of light southern snake-
Winds in cauldron skies bake;
With eye of oil exec and claw of owl,
Gab of bat and kids’ scowls,
Lizard’s struggle and insect’s wing,
All proof of climate changing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like late-day’s possible puddles.
Double, double good trouble;
To stop the carbon burning bubble.
Cool it with change, leaves. and buds,
Then the charm is firm and good.
🌧️🍂☁️🚇⛅ November greets you with mild smiles — AM giving clouds / PM giving sun — temperatures giving 73°F high / 50°F low .
🌧️ Morning— early-ambling showers from overnight should slip away sometime Tuesday morning.
☁️ Midday— airy unseasonable mildness brightens skies in calm, caressing winds of change.
⛅ Evening— the rest of the day should cool to above mid-50s°F lows, still-mild, along-with some clearing.
After Tuesday, the rest of your week appears to be brimming with breathing skies, delivering deciduously beautiful days ahead.
