turn/change/switch
Where incentives point towards ruin,
At the top of the to-do list:
Undoing
While simply living
Today
Being not enough
Carries a weight of how much
We really do gotta get to that undoing and change
To transform, to return, to more than recognize
More than reform, really evolve, collectively revise
To turn/change/switch and decarbonize:
Not an “adjustment” unless you mean adjusting everything
Not a “turnaround” but a return together solving everything
Not an “exchange” to change after changing things with your ex
Only a “course correction” when acting on the many courses to correct
Imagine all the different ways to say “Change”
Amid our deafening echo of how many more times and ways they all need to be said
And said and said they are-- if you’re listening or doing the saying, louder, hearder, more and more
Transition/reverse/shift/switch/turn/change more
And more, now more often and in more mouths
In more ways and finally heard in the global south
More and more these words fold into them(our)selves, transforming from words into worlds as an amalgam of
Action
Words of change as gears clicking into interlocking sentence structures and culture structures and superstructures spinning growing and generating better system structures of change, accelerating all the days out through old and into new ways in habit and phrase
So many different ways to say “Change”
And we need them all to say how to save
Rebuild, combine, rearrange while doing away
With all the ruinous old ways, in turn/switch/change
A brighter morning to dawn
Switched on by the sun
Where incentives point towards everyone
